Sportsbet Finals Day at Morphettville this weekend, which has been a great concept for a few years. Only qualified horses will run in the finals, which ensures competitive fields and hopefully some nice results for punters. Rain is due throughout the card, but it is very little, so it should not affect the track too much, as we begin on a Good 4. Rail is in the TRUE position, so speed will be crucial to results with the likelihood of a fair track.

Race 6 #3 Dual Pressure ($2.70) - The son of Denman has been ultra-consistent over his last four runs, running solidly behind good horses like Ndola and Air Assault and winning races within BM72 and BM78 quality. There looks to be a lot of speed engaged here, and with the positive draw, I am expecting Taylor Johnstone to utilise the draw and park just off the leaders. If he can run up to his previous ratings, he has the chance to win his third race this preparation.

Race 7 #5 Flaming Navy ($3.60) - Willing to butter up again with this gelding, following his last start sixth as favourite, where he wound up 3/5 lame in the off hind leg. At the start prior in Class 1 company, he was way too good for his opposition, saluting by 6.7 lengths. He gets in well with the claim of Caitlin Tootell and I am not too worried about the draw, as there appears to be very little speed here, so I expect them to head forward and dictate terms. Hopefully, he is all healed up from last start, and can show what he is made of.
Supporting Play
Race 5 #7 Zoupurring ($3.90) - This lightly raced 6yo gelding is aiming for win number four this preparation at start five, following back-to-back victories here and on the Parks track. In a similar setup to today, he was much too good last start, stalking the speed and showing great strength over the final 200m to salute by just over a length. The speed looks fair here, but the ideal draw should give him the run needed to conserve his energy. He looks hard to beat, despite being in a competitive field.

The Bubble Burster - Horse That Won’t Win (Favourite to Get Beat)
Race 1 #7 Harmonic Dancer ($3.00) - Broke its maiden status just over a fortnight ago, but it didn’t beat a lot. Despite winning by just over five lengths, the form coming out of that race so far has been somewhat disappointing. Of the field of 13, 7 have gone around since for 1 win, whilst the rest haven’t even gotten close. This is much tougher, the draw is awkward, and he is severely under the odds.
Sink or Swim - Horse on Last Chance
Race 2 #6 Talisay ($4.80) - This girl has started under $6.00 in five of her six starts this preparation and hasn’t fired a shot since her first-up victory. Only thing that is to her credit, she had to chase home Darknconfidential and Guru Warrior. Punters have buttered up to her over her last three, this is her last chance this preparation I think to nail a win.

Race 10 #Shirshov - Needs to carry a solid weight, but a favourable draw puts him right in this.

Race 9 #9 Klabel - Seems big odds for a horse whose only failure was up the straight last start. Could be a sneaky place chance.

Race 8 #3 Air Assault - Travelling very well and gets his chance at a Listed win in Victoria after finishing second behind Globe in this race last year.
Race 9 #4 Watchme Win - Has run well this preparation without winning. Back around a bend will suit. Decent each-way odds.
