Morphettville Parks - 15 November 2025

Spring racing is beginning to come to an end in the Eastern States, as we begin to heat up towards the Summer racing carnival over in the West, before gradually transitioning into the QLD summer as well. Hong Kong has its International meeting next month, which also throws up plenty of intrigue. Meanwhile, in South Australia, we have the Sportsbet Finals Day looming as the heats continue this weekend.

Morphettville Parks

Best Bet

Race 6 #3 Guru Warrior ($1.70) - No prizes for finding the son of Saxon Warrior, who is going for four on the bounce, but everything just points in his direction. Speed in the race came out today, which puts him in the box seat once again to lead. Of his three wins this time in, his run on the Parks (where we are racing today) was his best, as he didn’t seem to veer off like he did in the subsequent runs. He is unbeaten at 2000m+, drawn beautifully, and the stable has added visors and a lugging bit to try to keep him going straight. He only beats himself. #2 Yuri Royale is a terrific each-way, saver or place chance in behind with a nice claim and weight swing on the favourite.

Next Best

Race 4 #3 Nasho ($5.00) - On the quick back-up from last weekend’s fourth behind Zoupurring, in benchmark 86 quality. The top four runs of his career have come at 1400m+, which makes 1550m today appealing, and he has been on the seven-day back-up on two occasions, winning both times over 1400m comprehensively. He looks to dictate here with no pace engaged, and will take catching after getting his own way.

Supporting Play

Race 7 #5 Ginger Sinner ($4.40) & #8 Capitalex ($4.60)- Two horse play here, and I think we will go close. Ginger Sinner has had a 35-day break following his tight loss to Streetcar Fury second-up. Form has stood up nicely from that race, producing one next start winner and six placings, with that winner being the impressive win by Mercury Eight on Wednesday. What Caitlin Tootell does from the draw is crucial to his success, and with luck, will be right there. Capitalex flew home to just miss behind Hot Statement last time out, and we are still scratching our heads at the start prior. Drawn beautifully this time in, which should give him every chance to make an impact.

Blackbooked From The Trials

  • R3 #8 Fear The Zou ($35.00) - This looks too tough an assignment for her.

  • R5 #5 Swiftie Harriet ($4.40) - Her best can win this, slightly worried about the run in transit.

  • R7 #10 Taino Rocket ($7.50) - Needs to return to his first-up effort to be a chance. Place chance.

  • R9 #9 He’s A Cool Cat ($18.00) - Unlikely in this field.

  • R9 #14 Si Senora ($4.60) - First-up from a brilliant trial. Top chance with no weight and inside draw.

  • R9 #17 Creek ($21.00) - Needs to gain a run. Providing he gets a run, he is a big chance to run a drum.

Too Short, Too Good - Horse That Should Win (Too Short in Market)

None this week.

The Bubble Burster - Horse That Won’t Win (Favourite to Get Beat)

None this week.

Sink or Swim - Horse on Last Chance

Race 5 #6 Palm of Jumeirah ($3.50) - I know this horse is only third-up this preparation, but it hasn’t won since March, having six starts since, averaging an SP of around $4.50. Of those six starts, she has started favourite three times, and second favourite three times, managing no better than third. This is a winnable race for her, and she gets the favours to run well.

Border Bandits - Horses Traveling Interstate

Caulfield

Phillip Stokes

  • R3 #9 Skippers Canyon ($5.00) - Should be ready to go third-up and a definite winning hope.

  • R7 #3 Matahga ($51.00) - Unlikely.

  • R9 #3 Snow Mercy ($21.00) - She is full of talent, but this is a hot field and she looks unlikely to threaten at this stage of her career.

Richard and Chantelle Jolly

  • R1 #12 Hot Statement ($8.00) - Going for three on the bounce, but this is much tougher than previous outings. Place chance at best.

  • R6 #2 Aviatress ($5.50) - Goes well fresh, would be more confident with a better draw. Each way bet against this field from that draw.

Cody Reardon

  • Race 4 #8 Grinzinger Prince ($17.00) - Place chance.

Will Clarken

  • Race 4 #7 Extremely Lucky ($19.00) - Unlikely to threaten first-up.
